Excuse me while I unabashedly plug one of my favorite Italian eateries on Washington’s glorious west side — Cantinetta.
We stumbled about the swanky, affluent streets of Bellevue, window shopping and appetizer hopping. This was our first time in town, and our voracious appetites were set and raring to go.
Come here.
Today we were heavy handing the carbohydrates for one simple mission…To get the ultimate ‘night before the race’ meal.
I was running Seattle’s Rock and Roll half marathon the next day, and to me – this means one thing, and one thing only… Bolognese.
I crave it. I run so I can eat it – all of it. The question is, did I find it??
You bet your bottom dollar.
Cantinetta sat us at a romantic outdoor table for three (we had one of the Glob dogs accompanying our feasting journey that day).
With candles lit, old fashioneds and old vintages flooded our palates.
We dined on crostini with my best friend burrata #mybestfriendburrata (and my best friend the handsome Cuban).
And then the bolognese was served…
Come on!
Do words even exist??
Come to Bellevue for opulence. Come for luxury and abundance. Come for spending or browsing or dreaming. Come for fashion or cars or mansions or gawking. Come because your Italian. Come because you want to be. Come to run. Come to relax. Come for one or all or none of these things.
Come to Washington. Come to Bellevue. Come to Cantinetta.
Order the Bolognese.
Wanna make your own? Here is my go to recipe – Scavenger Bolognese. And while you’re in the Seattle area, you should definitely check out The Pink Door for some killer modern Italian or Momosan Seattle for your sushi fix!
